Game Day 2015 (First Grade)
The opening stages of the 2015 Woodbridge Cup season for our senior side, all started well and continued with all wins up to round 3. However, a 22 all draw with Gooloogong in Round 4 brought everyone back to earth! Then, our first defeat in a long time at the hands of Peak Hill 28-20. And now back on deck with a 46-12 win over the Tigers. Going into the final game of round one, against Condo we still sit second on the ladder after disposing of the Goannas 34-12, after an early scare we got home 36-26 against the Rams and have Trundle away to start Round 2. Another draw at 16 all sees us still in second spot, but our juniors helped a lot.
We finished the first round and went to our second game against Premiers Cargo with a resounding 50-4 win and still with second place but are 4 points adrift of peak Hill. Next week we face off with the Bears at Young where the 2015 Grand Final will be held this year in September. With the Bears knocked over, we now look to Gooloogong. And with Gooloogong out of the way and a heavy defeat inflicted on Peak Hill, we temporarily grab top spot on the Woodbridge Table.
On August 1, we accounted for the Canowindra Tigers 28-10 and retain top spot on the table. The final round of the regular season approaches, a narrow win against Grenfell has virtually sealed our Minor Premiership and hopefully a home semi-final. We now have the week off in First Grade to ready ourselves for the home semi-final after a 60-20 win over a valiant Condo in Round 18.
With our third successive Minor Premiership we fought out a convincing 40-14 victory over Peak Hill's Roosters to progress to the Woodbridge Cup Grand Final at Young.
